Music & Friends

Last night was such a great night! Truly, the whole day was magnificent. From 9-5 I attended a "Vocal Artistry" clinic, which was exactly what I needed. In the evening we performed at Barnes & Noble Booksellers, and had such a great turn out. It was so wonderful looking out into an audience full familiar faces amongst friendly strangers, all there supporting our musical endeavors. I definitely made my share of mistakes...but all in all- it was an awesome show! I look so forward to many many more nights like this- Next stop Phoenix Art Museum again...then on to Music on Mill Nov. 11th...Oh, and I can't forget to mention the music video we are filming this Thursday!..I'll be updating as we go on :)

Oct. 23rd

This Saturday night is the date of our Barnes & Noble showcase. It will also be our launch date for all of our online sites (i.e. PureVolume, Blog etc.) ! We are super excited about all the doors that are opening, and will keep everyone posted on upcoming events! Love :D -All A Flutter

Phoenix Art Museum

Last night was my first time playing at the Phoenix Art Museum's First Friday. There was a lot of talent in the building. A great range of artists- in both level and style- filled Whiteman Hall. Being my first time, I was uncertain of the exact flow of things. (i.e. I didn't even realize my set could be played with my Les Paul and drums! bummer! ... next time;) One other apparently "giant" mistake I made, was forgetting my guitar cable. At least "Mr. -Long -socks- mean -sound- man" made it into a huge deal. Of course, there was a cord available for use anyway, so it ended up working out after all! So to summarize; PAM First Friday's are a blast, I will be more prepared next time, and there are a lot of really talented artists in the area! It wasn't a perfect show...not by any stretch...but I learned some valuable lessons from it. By the way, I must mention that I discovered the sound guys angst was not strictly personal, he was in fact equally unkind to every performer. ;)

Monday's Melodies

Cheers to this new adventure. Since this blog is documenting All A Flutter's venture into the real world, we thought it only fitting (and important) that we give due credit to all those before us, making the way for others to follow in their musical footsteps! Besides, we can all use a little inspiration right? Here it goes. Mondays will henceforth be known as Monday's Melodies! This weeks song of choice is "He's Not a Boy" by The Like. Their retro 60's vibe is infectious. A smile is inevitable when groovin' to this upbeat tune. Go on, just try not to tap your foot. :)

Pure Volume

This week Jess and I are working like mad to get All A Flutter's Pure Volume up and running! It will have a few songs from the upcoming EP, show dates, booking info, etc. We have set 10/23 as our deadline date to get it all squared away. I think simply posting this date - forces some accountability (in an effort to kill my awful procrastination habit ;) ! And onward we go.
